Senior Officers Housing Community

Charleston Air Force Base, SC

Pond provided full, comprehensive architecture and engineering services including site development, design, interior design, landscape architecture and lighting for the creation of a new senior officers’ residential community at Charleston AFB, SC. This project included full master planning and housing design to create a community nestled among the numerous native, mature trees throughout the property.

The interior and exterior design of these newly constructed homes serves to enhance the appearance of the surrounding community while creating a cohesive neighborhood image. Design also included replacement of all aboveground electrical systems to underground electrical service for the neighborhood, new water mains, new curbs and gutters, sidewalks, pavement overlays and new bus shelters.

An overall neighborhood landscaping plan was also developed encompassing reconfiguration and upgrades of the entry road to create a new parkway type neighborhood entrance, new park areas with a children’s playground, and individual unit landscaping plans for each home in the neighborhood.
